Your lessons, stars, streak, quiz answers and settings are saved in your browser’s own storage and are not sent anywhere. If you never ask for access and never join a class, nothing about your learning ever leaves the device.
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your first name | When you type it | To greet you, and to print your certificate. It is also attached to automatic error reports so a broken lesson can be traced. |
| Name and email | Only if you tap “Request access” | So we can create an access code and send it to you. Nothing else is done with it. |
| Your progress | If you join a class, or switch on progress sync | So you can carry on from another device, and so your teacher can see how the class is getting on. |
| A random session id, and your browser type | Each visit | To show the administrator who is currently using the app, and to count active learners. |
| Error reports | If the app breaks | The error message, the page, and your first name, so the fault can be found and fixed. |
| Lesson text | When you use read-aloud or change language | Sent to a speech or translation service to be spoken or translated. Where the app greets you by name, that greeting may include your first name. |
We use a small number of services to make the app work. They receive only what is listed above.
There are no advertising networks, no analytics, and no third-party trackers of any kind.
This app is built for learners of all ages, including children, and is often used in classrooms. We have kept that in mind:
If you are a parent or guardian and would like your child’s information removed, write to the address below and we will delete it.
Progress is kept while the account is in use, so learners can come back to it. Error reports are kept only long enough to fix the fault. Anything can be deleted on request, and deletion is permanent.
On your own device: open My Progress in the app and use Reset progress, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. That removes everything stored locally.
From our server: email the address below with your access code or the name you used, and we will delete your progress and your code.
Everything travels over HTTPS. The browser never talks to the database directly — all access goes through server-side functions. Teacher PINs and the administrator password are stored only as one-way hashes, never as text we could read.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
